How to Choose The Right Superyacht Charter?

When everything goes right, days spent aboard a superyacht charter can create some of the best memories of your life. The best Yacht charter services offer you the opportunity to explore the extraordinary destinations, enjoy luxury comfort, first-class services, bespoke cuisine and many fun things to do on a yacht. However, choosing the right superyacht charter that fits your preferences and style, is the key to a memorable trip

It’s a good idea to start by considering different aspects of multiple options available to you. Budget, location, size and style are important determining factors. It is a long and complicated process. So, we are breaking it down into four steps.

Step 1: Start With The Basics

Budget

Most yacht charter services providers charge per week. If there are additional costs such as fuel or dockage the yacht rental companies will let you know. Time of year can influence the overall cost dramatically. And. of course, the yacht itself influences the cost. Here is a list of additional costs:

  • Food and drink
  • Fuel
  • Harbor fees and dockage
  • Communications
  • Delivery fee
  • Laundry
  • Insurance
  • VAT

Location

If you have already selected a location, the yacht rental company will suggest  the best destinations in that area. The choice of the luxury vessel depends on the location and the choice of location depends on the experience you want.

Size Of The Group

If you are with kids, choose a yacht with more cabins, bunk beds or twin berths.

You have to consider local laws as well. According to the maritime regulations, a yacht must be registered under the SOLAS (Safety of Life At Sea). Yachts of different sizes fall under different classifications. The size of the yacht will dictate the maximum number of guests allowed on board.

Step 2: Decide Your Requirements

Cabin Configuration

Consider the layout. If you are with kids, smaller cabins near your cabin are something to think about.  On the other hand, couples need separation. Bulkheads (walls on a yacht) are not as soundproof as walls at home. So, choose a yacht with suites that are not sharing  bulkheads with other suites.

Disabled Access

In addition to having elevators between decks and wide passageways for walkers or wheelchairs, make sure that the staff is also trained to accommodate the special needs of the disabled guests.

Kid Friendly

Make sure that the yacht and staff are educated and equipped to handle children. There should be safety rails near the stairs. All breakable objects should be out of kids’ reach.

Step 3: Decide The Most Important Amenities You Want

Food

You want a fine cuisine to make it the most sumptuous foodie vacation of your life. So, to make sure that the food can satisfy your taste buds, check the specialties and qualifications of the chef.

Watersports

If you seek underwater adventure during your vacation, ensure that all the diving equipment and a certified dive master are aboard. You also need compressors to refill the tanks.

Exercise

If you have a fitness regime to stick to, choose a yacht with a workout facility that at least equals shoreside gyms.

Tenders

You need a tender to reach a superyacht charter anchored away from shore. However, some yacht charter services providers use tenders for fishing, water-skiing and some other activities.

Step 4: Choose Your Style

Superyacht charters come in different shapes and sizes. You are going to spend an entire week. So, make sure you pick a style you like.

Motor Or Sailing

Sailors often prefer sailing charter yachts with all the luxurious amenities found on luxury motor yachts. Others can go for motor yachts.
