After the success of the Hold Your Horses/It’s All Kicking Off for Honkies!!!11!!!!EP via Permanent Creeps, back in January, Honkies have been gigging extensively throughout the year at some of London’s grittiest toilet venues and have already shared the stage with rising acts including: Peeping Drexels, Phobophobes, black midi, Black Country,New Road, FEET and The Rhythm Method, to name a few.
Recorded at the infamous Sam & Rachel Studios, Honkies new single ‘Slugs’ is a twisted country tale that deals with themes of alienation, general confusion at the world, people, societal inequality and gentrification. The loose and ramshackled trademark honkies sound is very much still retained with all the chewy bits included. Watch here
“The lyrics are an ode to attending bad social functions for the sake of spending time with good people– mostly on cocaine.”
