John Fogerty Donates a Home To a Veteran Using Canceled Woodstock 50 Payment

Legendary Songwriter and Performer JOHN FOGERTY will attend a Veterans Day Ceremony and dedicate the “Proud Mary – John Fogerty Container Home” at Veterans Village on Monday, November 11th.  Afterwards, he will attend a private screening of his new concert film, “50 Year Trip: Live at Red Rocks” with local Las Vegas veterans.

The Veterans Village Container Homes are repurposed ocean shipping containers used to provide affordable housing for market rate buyers, low to moderate income individuals/families, and previously homeless individuals/families. As a Veteran himself, JOHN FOGERTY is donating to the construction of the “Proud Mary” container home using money received from the canceled Woodstock 50 event in August.  In wanting to keep with the Woodstock spirit of Peace, Music and Giving, John, with his wife, Julie, designated the money he was paid to this important and worthwhile endeavor.

As the song lyrics to the iconic “Proud Mary” say:

If you come down to the river

Bet you gonna find some people who live

You don’t have to worry ’cause you have no money

People on the river are happy to give

Big wheel keep on turnin’

This year JOHN FOGERTY is celebrating 50 years in music and the anniversary of his iconic performance with Creedence Clearwater Revival at Woodstock. To celebrate, Fathom Events is releasing “50 Year Trip: Live at Red Rocks” in theaters nationwide. JOHN will be joined by 75 veterans to watch and experience this special concert event.

The concert, recorded live at the Red Rock Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado this past June, features seventeen classic originals including “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising” and “Centerfield,” and covers of The Who’s “My Generation”, The Beatles “With A Little Help From My Friends” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” by Gladys Knight and the Pips.

In addition to the feature content, fans will get an exclusive interview with FOGERTY reflecting on his career and historic performances.

Tickets for “John Fogerty – 50 Year Trip at Red Rock” can be purchased at or participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in nearly 800 select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN).
