Bad Man” explores all the facets of a troubled soul with good intentions, who’s ultimately looking for answers in all the wrong places. The song grapples with acknowledging one’s imperfections and struggling to change. It’s about feeling the impact of your mistakes, and carrying the weight of letting people down.

Sings frontman Ian Cochran, “I’m a sad man, but no one knows / I’m a bad man huntin’, you know I’m just stuntin’ / a sad man gunning for some real good vibes.”

“‘Bad Man’ is sometimes an alter-ego,” says Cochran. “That side of you that gets into trouble and doesn’t always make the wisest choices. Hurting the ones that matter. Feeling independent and like you don’t need anyone’s help.” This sentiment is echoed in the lyric, “You hope I turn into a saint, I hope you find a better man.” A crossroads presents itself. Will the fear of messing up keep them stuck in one place or will they rise to the occasion?

On “Bad Man” Cowboy Diplomacy reveal that being “bad to the bone” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and can ultimately be a lonely experience. Accepting help from others, and owning your mistakes? Now that’s truly badass.

Bad Man” follows the release of “The Get Down,” the lead single off the upcoming debut album Burn Down The Road. It was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith at The Bubble in Austin, Texas, and co-written by musician and guitarist Philip Devries and Cowboy Diplomacy’s Brad Bentley.
