Two in one laptops have been around since 1993, but have been gaining more popularity recently. This is because an increasing amount of tech-giants are investing in this venture.

Hybrid laptops are divided into two main categories:

  • Bend back 2-in-1

  • Detachable 2-in-1

The bend back 2-in-1 contains a screen that can be turned and twisted 360 degrees. It has a greater number of ports and a more durable keyboard whereas the detachable contains a portable screen that can be removed anytime to be used as a tablet.

If you are ever looking for a reason to purchase such a gadget then cost-effectiveness may be looming over you. Hybrid laptops provide the functionality of both a laptop and a tablet so funds do not have to be spent on them separately.

A significant point to remember if you desire this product is that even though it is a combination of two gadgets, both of those gadgets are not of the highest quality. This means that you must not expect a high-end laptop or high-end tablet from this product separately as the lack of space does not leave room for high-end hardware.

  • The first and most significant benefit is that they provide a cost-effective alternative to spending on a laptop and tablet separately as we discussed earlier.

  • 2-in-1 laptops are light in weight and less bulky which benefits the people who carry their laptops with them most of the time.

  • Acquiring this product will break the shackles of confinement to the desk as portability is its charm.

  • Companies like Google and Amazon have installed artificially intelligent softwares (Alexa etc) in their hybrid laptops that let you control a whole lot of things through your convertible.

  • These hybrids are a commodity for teachers these days as they can be used as a digital whiteboard while working with a stylus which has proven to be a positively involving medium for students.

“Computers themselves, and software yet to be developed will revolutionize the way we learn”-Steve Jobs.

  • Finally, 2-in-1 laptops contain pretty decent speakers as designers are looking for people to adopt this as their primary media device.

It would be naïve to assume that any gadget does not have its flaws. 2-in1 laptops have their drawbacks too.

  • If you want a standalone laptop or tablet, then it is not logical to purchase a hybrid that will be in the price range of a premium standalone.

  • Hybrids do not provide users with a high standard of graphics.

What we conclude from these arguments is that a hybrid laptop will benefit its owner in the long run. They may have some drawbacks but every piece of technology has its flaws so it is important to be positive and look for the benefits rather than blabber about the flaws.

2-in1 laptops have come a long way since their conception in 1993 and we expect more innovation by the top companies.
