Baroque pop singer/songwriter Valerio Lysander releases official music video for his new single “A Woman”, extracted from his EP “When the Clouds Will Gather I Will Drink the Rain”.
Taking influence from artists like Regina Spektor and Chris Garneau, the song takes the listener on a musical journey, ranging from very intimate moments to intense and moving heights. A Woman is a powerful and dynamic ballad, starting with a very intimate instrumentation, almost as a quiet night lullaby, which then leads to a second part with rousing strings and horn section and an epic orchestral ending.
The song was written by Valerio on the occasion of his mother’s 50th birthday a few years ago. Valerio says “I realised that forgiving her mistakes was much easier when I accepted that she wasn’t as perfect as a child thinks their parents are, but that she also was a human being with her qualities and flaws.”
But this song is not only for her, it’s for every woman and every man, and the child that lives inside us. It is a reminder that we are allowed to dream and to be unsuccessful, that we can also think we are worthless and then win the world, that we are preciously imperfect, and that that is the beauty of it.
The song comes with an official music video which focuses on the different feelings, passions and journeys of a woman, ideally Valerio’s mother, who died two years ago in a car accident. The video wants to be a celebration of her life, but also of every woman’s and every man’s, with the little insecurities, griefs, weaknesses and strifes but also successes, laughters and joys.
