Beard Bates has creatively leveled-up yet again with the release of his new music video for the single “Bovine Divine”. Shot at the much buzzed (or loathed) Museum of Selfies in Hollywood, the alt-hip-hop driven track is given an over the top visual experience that is impossible to forget, and pairs perfectly with Bates’ passion for creatively bizzare awesomeness. The visuals also features guest stars Tori Ross and Brittanie Nash.
“Bovine Divine” was directed by Beard Bates and marks a sharp, and perhaps temporary departure from his signature sound of experimental rock, indie and folk mixed with electronic undertones, venturing into alt-hip-hop territories with a twist. “Bovine could be called my Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart moment and connects this song to my past material others are used to expecting” says Bates. “My influences are insanely diverse, but with music like Bovine I would nod more to a Mike Patton, Nick Cave or Tom Waits attitude towards music, and clearly I love electronic and hip-hop genres as well”. Both the video and single are indulgent, oddly infectious and unapologetically Beard Bates.
