A song that showcases Americana-tinged pop and nostalgic 60’s west coast inspired influences, hotly tipped band The 27 have added a new music video addition to their back catalogue, coming in the form of the hypnotic visual for song ‘Run’. Watch here
The 27 have been building a solid fanbase ever since their formation many years ago. Frontman Henry Parker has been meddling in music since he was a teen, creatively experimenting with Americana sounds and pop harmonies the hone in a sound that would soon become a central pillar to The 27’s musical identity. Going onto achieving renowned recognition from prestigious publication Classic Rock, declaring that the band blend “Sun-kissed pop harmonies with roots of Americana to beguiling effect” and acquiring some star studded fans from a listers Bonnie Raitt to Beyoncé. Now The 27 are taking the reigns once more with the release of their latest thought provoking video, accompanying the tenderly explosive single ‘Run’.
‘Run’ opens up into an atmospheric room, draped in elegant curtains and people galore. Clearly the centre of a party, Henry is surrounded by a hive of individuals having the time of their lives, yet Parker remains still, pensive in thought. As the music video continues, the camera eventually cuts to a scene which sees the singer down by the seafront, running away from the jobs that adulthood brings with it. A true nod to the tracks lyrics, the music video effortlessly depicts the sentiment of the singles songwriting, with Henry himself saying of the song “‘Run’ is about growing up and becoming an adult, not knowing exactly what that means or entails nowadays; it’s about trying to work out who you really are as an adult, as you progress from those teenage years.”
