Goat has returned with the release of his new single “Yesterday’s Tears,” the title track off his upcoming album. Listen here
About the song, Rosen comments “A songwriter friend of mine once said, “if I have to explain a lyric… I must not have done a very good job writing it.
I think he was lost in the poetry and extremely gifted. Next level genius, I am speaking of my friend, Chris Whitley. Not the case with “Yesterday’s Tears”.
“Yesterday’s Tears” is about love lost and the shifting of emotions when such a devastating loss occurs in ones life. It can set the meter back to zero when it comes to surviving personal relationships. Everything is different, even though much is the same.
No use in crying yesterday’s tears. There will be today’s tears and tomorrow’s as well, but yesterday is out of reach and can’t be consoled.
“Yesterday’s Tears” speaks of the isolated feeling that has you baring your soul to a harsh biting Winter’s wind that you hardly feel and wish were even colder and still finding wonderment in the cold and distant golden promising sun.”
Goat’s latest album, Yesterday’s Tears, is available on all digital outlets now.
