Living a life as a celebrity may not all be about the glitz and the glamour as many expect. Down the years there have been celebrities that have found the fame too much to handle and have gone off the rails with crazy stunts. Some have even made their careers, or prolonged them for their crazy actions. Nobody is really sure what is going through their heads when they partake in these actions. It could be narcotics, mental illness, or just looking for something in order to stay relevant in the mainstream audience.
However, whichever way celebrities look at it, they get headlines splashed on the front pages of newspapers and magazines around the world when they go down this road. Not all of it is going to be good press, but they even say in Hollywood that there’s no such thing as bad press. Some celebrities have taken it to a whole new level; however, with their actions, but who are some of the celebrities that could have taken it too far and should have just settled down in front of the television playing MobileBet casino games?
The only place to start when talking about controversial celebrities is the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne. The former front-man of Black Sabbath has taken controversial actions to a completely new spectre. He has done almost everything throughout his career that has gained him negative press, and his reputation as almost impossible to manage. There have been no shortage of controversial moments for Osbourne throughout his career, and they span from mildly funny to simply outrageous. His antics have remained with him throughout his childhood as his teacher once recalled that he played pranks in the classroom by heating up pennies and waited for the teacher to pick them up and burn their hands.
This is a mild example of the antics that he has done. He has been known to bite of dove and bat heads during live concerts and has urinated into executive producers drinks before watching them drink it. His urination also got him banned from a US state after he was arrested for releasing himself on a national monument. He even drank drove to the birth of his first child, and was so drugged up on substances that he killed a house full of cats. However, his music reputation has never been dampened, and he remains a king in the metal community.
Miley Cyrus was once considered the darling of Disney television, and she became an inspiration to millions of teenagers around the world as she portrayed Hannah Montana in the series with the same name. Her character had dreams of becoming a superstar and a recording artist. The show was one of the most popular television shows of its era, but once it came to an end, Cyrus began to embark on her own personal career in the music industry. She recorded two number one albums in the USA, before radically changing her look and going down another path.
She released an album titled ‘Bangerz’, and began to dress more provocatively for shows and would dance more erotically than previously. This drew a lot of negative criticism due to the amount of fans that were under the age of 18. However, she went one step further at the VMA Awards when she performed with Robin Thicke in what was one of the most bizarre performances in television history. Fans began to get concerned by her antics and thought she was looking for help. However, she would later reflect on this in an interview and reveal that she went through a crazy stage in her career, and she has realised that she needs to calm down. She put the phase down to the Disney show and stated that she no longer wanted to be remembered for Hannah Montana, and instead wanted to be known for her own music. Her performances during this time were certainly a way for people to forget about the Disney show.
An R&B act that could never stay away from the limelight is Chris Brown. Brown was on top of the world after his first two albums both went on to achieve number one status in the USA. However, his life took a turn for the worse in 2009 when the police were called to his home after he had beaten his then-girlfriend Rihanna. The female superstar was left with visible damage left at the hands of Brown, and the backlash was fierce. Brown pleaded guilty to the charges and avoided prison time, but radio stations were made to stop playing his songs after complaints were made across the country.
He was arrested again in 2012, before being arrested once more in 2013 and 2014. In 2018, he was arrested in the USA after assaulting a photographer, before being released on bail for a fee of $2,000. These charges were eventually dropped in 2019. However, his criminal record means that since 2016 he has been unable to fulfil tours in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. This year he was arrested again on felony battery charges and was charged for the illegal possession of a pet monkey. However, despite this, his career continues to flourish. Just weeks after the latter charges were brought to him he performed with Drake in Los Angeles, before partaking in his own tour around North America. Since the initial charges were brought to him by Rihanna, he has released eight further studio albums. With three of these going into the number one spot in the USA. He has also had five top ten hits on the US Billboard, which shows that the fans will stand by him no matter of his personal troubles.
That is the case for many of the celebrities that have had complex problems in the public eye. The majority of their fan base will stand by their heroes as they are placed on a pedestal and in the eyes of the fans, they can do no wrong.
