Columbia, South Carolina-based band The Restoration has returned with the release of their new single “I’ll Never Leave You,” which comes out off their new album West.

About the song, lead singer Daniel Machado comments “I actually realized that both my grandparents (Ruby and Joe) and my wife and I met under similar circumstances. Ruby was up in Massachusetts in an acting program and met Joe. They moved down south, where she was from. I met my wife when she was down here in the University of South Carolina’s acting program. I was pretty moved by the idea that things aren’t all that different emotionally between you and your grandparents. The song takes a turn when Joe gets a little too attached in a compulsive way, perhaps. From Ruby’s perspective, I think she’s had goals and dreams, and she’s realizing that maybe she likes (or even loves this guy) and the things she has wanted to do in her life, that window is closing for her.”
