UZ, has linked up with Chicago rapper SoloSam for the aptly named single “Fire.” UZ’s contemporary take on a traditional hip hop beat builds a steady foundation for SoloSam’s glossy rap with a rugged melody that weaves in and out. The result is a bone-rattling experience; from the speakers through to your entire physical existence. “Fire” is the third single off UZ’s forthcoming LP, and follows recent single and dazy video, “Bang Bang”, as well as the highly awaited “Awakening”, which featured fellow trap founder, HUCCI.
The release of “Fire” allows UZ to show off a more hip hop driven production featuring bars from SoloSam, an emerging, multidisciplinary Chicago artist. Growing up in a highly artistic family (his father and namesake is a well-known Ghanian painter, Samuel Akainyah), SoloSam’s musical ear and smokey voice conjoin to create a flow all his own. As both a producer and rapper, SoloSam’s sophisticated lyricism and tasteful stylings make him one to watch. Clearly UZ’s fanbase appreciates his rap records, as UZ’s last hip hop record was a massive collaboration with Rome Fortune, and garnered nearly 4 million streams on Spotify. French-born, Los Angeles-based producer/DJ/artist UZ is one of the founding fathers and most forward-thinking innovators of modern trap music, a genre he helped elevate from a nascent underground sound to a worldwide musical movement. Now with seven years as an influential tastemaker and nearly 200 releases to his name, UZ remains an active voice in trap via his groundbreaking original music, speaker-rattling live sets and trendsetting label,Quality Goods Records.
As he celebrates seven years as a pioneer in the global bass scene and as his Quality Goods Records imprint enters its third year as the industry’s future-forward collective, UZ will continue to push beyond genre confines as the rule-breaking creative he’s been all these years. Stay tuned for new music and a brand-new UZ album that will take the innovative artist to new sonic territories.
