Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Je”?
– JE is about letting your girl know that you’ve got everything covered, she can relax. Je means take time.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
– The day I landed in Ghana, it gave me a spirit of peace. From seeing little kids dancing to seeing the coconut man happy! every morning. That inspired ‘Je’ and the rest of the songs on the ep.
What role does London play in your music?
– My day ones are from London, the city plays a bit part in my music. I haven’t done a headline show in London though! But when that comes, it’s gonna be big!
How has your upbringing influence your writing?
– As time went on my understanding of actual music grew, which influenced my writing and producing massively. I feel like I make music ahead of time.
How’s your new EP coming along?
– This Ep actually changed twice. The first set of songs, I recorded them all in London but then I just put it to the side for a bit. I then went to Ghana for 4 months, be myself! which was my first time in about 15 years. That whole experience gave me a different vibe, different approach, different vision for the Ep. So I made 7 new songs. Named it ‘meVSyou’ And I can’t wait for the world to hear it.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
– Remember the name “Balance” . coming off my soon to drop EP ‘meVsyou’. I’m Coming to disturb October!
Any plans to hit the road?
– Definitely gonna hit the roads soon. I’ll be in Ghana for the December period killing things there. Soon to announce some things I’ll be doing in london before then. So keep up with me on the gram for updates.
What else is happening next in Ghetto Boy’s world?
– I’m soon to introduce some merchandise, more collaborations and more hits! Might even get a show real soon!
