Today, on the heels of their performance at the UK’s Mercury Prize ceremony, Foals debut their new song, “Into The Surf.” In contrast to the two tracks that preceded it, “The Runner” and “Black Bull,” “Into The Surf” captures a very different side to Foals. It’s a dreamy, ethereal soundscape which allows Yannis Philippakis’ haunting but elegant lyrics to soar. “In ‘Into the Surf’ there’s this shadow of death, of someone not returning from a voyage,” he explained in an interview with DIY. “There’s a type of Greek folk song that’s always to do with the immigration of Greek people and how dying on foreign shores is always viewed as the worst fate – to die far away from your home and your family.” Listen to “Into The Surf” here.

The band has also released Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1: Remixes, a collection of ten personally curated mixes of songs off  Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1. The album includes remixes by Metronomy, Tensnake, London’s rising talent TSHA, Air collaborator Vincent Taurelle and more.

Additionally, the band will debut their music video for “The Runner,” directed by Quentin Deronzier (Skrillex, Orelsan and Petit Biscuit), this Friday.

Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2  completes the artistic statement and striking state-of-the-world-address of Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1. The album will be released on CD, digital and vinyl formats. Special editions include orange vinyl that will be available exclusively through indie stores and a picture disc which is designed to be added to the Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Collector’s Edition boxset.
