Hi Dandi, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I have been great.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Running Away”?

Actually the song is more of a true life experience. It is more about a guy who always get attracted to good girls but end up running away from them because he is scared of falling in love.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

Yes, anytime I find myself attracted to a really good girl I always run away for no reason, it got me bothered for a while why that always happens, so I discovered that a part of me is scared of falling in love. That was basically how the inspiration for the song came about.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

We just shoot a video for the song, a beautiful video hopefully it will be out next year.

How was the recording and writing process?

Thanks to my team the process was super easy, I wrote the song myself and the song was produced by one of Nigeria’s top producer “shadybizness”.

What role does Nigeria play in your music?

Growing up in Nigeria has greatly influenced my music, we always try to put an element of our Nigeria roots.

How has your upbringing influence your writing?

I was raised on mainly R&B & HipHop music, so that greatly affected my writing and style of music.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

I already have two new songs I just finish working on.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Not yet, will have to discuss that with my team.

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes, we have a tour we are working on, a tour round Nigeria coming hopefully next year.

What else is happening next in Dandi Mil’s world?

I have a new foundation am starting that focuses on caring for children with no fathers and single mothers.
