Papertwin shares new single “Candy Cigarettes” & announces their debut record ‘Family Portraits’

Today Papertwin shares their new single “Candy Cigarettes” and announces their debut record Family Portraits. Listen to “Candy Cigarettes” here.

Regarding the origin of the song the band explains “It was a Sally Mann photograph that was the original inspiration for this song. We’ve all come across old family photos that seem to reveal our personalities and future lives with unsettling accuracy. When something goes wrong we look for clues in the faces of old family snap shots trying to pinpoint the exact moment when everything changed.”

Recorded in Decker’s home studio in Massachusetts with longtime friend Francis Cardinale and receiving guidance from Nick Shopa, the LP was mixed by Jorge Elbrecht (Tamaryn, Sky Ferriera, Japanese Breakfast) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Bjork, Slowdive, Ryuchi Sakamoto).
