Lucy Whittaker, has announced the release of her new pop dance track ‘Hate Me’, alongside her upcoming UK headline tour in October. Listen here
The feel-good dance track is “designed to make you move”. With a strong beat and baseline, the track is written about an “ex that can’t let go, they hate that they want you and you secretly love it!” says Lucy.
Visually the pack-shot shows Lucy messily tucking into a burger, and the track itself is focussed around the idea of being hated for all the right reasons. The artist says “this is the first track i’ve written where its all about the vibe… and it worked out pretty well”.
The track follows Touch, and Miracle, which drew acclaim from BBC Radio, Kissfresh, Gay Times, and more. Lucy’s 2018 release ‘Who’s Gonna Know’ was also remixed earlier this year and was featured in Spotify’s Official UK House Music Playlist, as well as being featured in Martin Garrix’s radio show, and in David Guetta’s live set. In March 2019 Lucy played multiple shows in Austin TX at SXSW, and has also taken on a huge amount of UK and European Pride shows.
The new single combines punchy pop dance beats with soft floating vocals, exploring the relatable topic of an ex still wanting you, although you both know it’s wrong. ‘Hate Me’ is a very different vibe to Lucy’s previous tracks which were described as “proper pop” by Clara Amfo from BBC Radio 1. ‘Hate Me’ is an energy-based track, making it the perfect dance-pop track to hear in clubs across the world.
The track will be performed at her first ever UK tour, starting 14th October in The Pipeline in Brighton.
The artist will be touring across five destinations in the UK, covering:
