In the same vein of John Mayer and The Black Keys, SG&TFN coo their way into the heart of the listener with “Misconstrued”. An ode to being tangled up in love, the track holds soft, twinkly guitar and velvety vocals that drift into almost a whisper.
About the song, the band comments “Misconstrued is loosely based on Gilliam’s view of the relationship between a musician and social media, and how it’s seemingly necessary to stand out with both art and word. Musically, the song is built on the groove and rides it through different atmospheres while still attempting to breathe, with omnichord and Hammond organ supplying the oxygen to Dan Spaugys carbon-based Guitar leads.”
