INTERVIEW: Jay Q

Hi Jay Q, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I am in a bit of pain. Stuck on a flight from Atlanta to Vegas for my premier Parties. First class was sold out.

Can you talk to us more about your latest release ‘Body Talk Remix’?

We know we were the leader in this sound. My CEO, Miriam Bavly wanted more big city marketing power with a real Afro-Caribbean feature. The Remix vocal tones with Me and HoodCelebrityy combine to be one of the best vocal answers and call songs in the world this year.

What inspired you to write and record ‘Body Talk Remix’?

I wanted a woman’s perspective to a real subject of discussion between men and women.

How was the recording and writing process of the track?

The recording was kinetic, my team are all proven professionals w Grammys or big numbers on previous recordings. The song started w my speech about the way I view relationships.

What was it like working alongside HoodCelebrityy?

She is s gem. She has a new single out on Sony Epic. I know she is a real talent.

How does this new release compare to ‘Body Talk’ released earlier in the year?

When women are in the mix men can only expect better do it took an already awesome original to Legendary. You will be listening to it next summer and many years.

If you could perform in any stadium in the world, where would it be and why?

London O2 Arena. When you are featured there you have arrived. Many of. my current favorite artist performed there.

What has been your highlight of 2019 so far?

Getting signed to a 10 year deal w BreakOut Music and resigning from my career as a successful Solicitor (Trial Lawyer).

What has been the highlight of your whole career so far?

Working with a CEO and label that really gets gives me the freedom to create whatever I want.

If you could give someone starting out in the industry one piece of advice, what would it be?

Wait for your time. Never stop creating. Quit your job. Find your most passion driven voice.
