I Fight Fail Release Synth-Rock Cover of “Cute Without The ‘E’ (Cut From The Team” by Taking Back Sunday

When you’re a band with members raised on early 2000’s emo/punk rock, it’s only a matter of time before your rehearsal turns into a jam session of “Cute Without The E” by Taking Back Sunday. Today, the Canton, OH-based trio I Fight Failhave officially released their electro-rock take on the 2002 emo classic.

We ultimately decided to cover this song because it was a track that shaped our youth and still it’s a great song,” says vocalist/bassist Andy Potter. “We didn’t want to just make it a copycat cover, we wanted to take it and give it a little of the modern hip hop edge mixed with the pop rock style. We love the way it turned out and hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.

The cover maintains the infectious melodies and bouncy rhythms that made the original so great, while giving it an electro-pop facelift. The alternative/pop punk song is drowned in synth and chorus, then wrung out to leave you with the sincere and melancholic words that you’ve been screaming for the last 17 years.
