Can you talk to us more about your latest single “forward”?

“Forward” is my debut single off of my upcoming EP and I’m really excited about this song… it reflects my point of view and tells my story.  I’m so proud and excited to share it with all of my listeners.  I’m hoping that people can connect with it and bring their own perspectives with the common message of moving forward.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?  I feel like “Forward” talks about growing and embracing the process that every single one of us goes through in life, both the good and the bad.

Any plans to release an official video for the single?

That’s a good question I’m not sure yet… but in the meantime we do have a visual lyric video on YouTube that shows how magical Tel Aviv is.

How was the recording and writing process?

With “Forward,” like many of my other songs, I just started jamming on the guitar in my living room and writing down my thoughts… after 3-4 hours it became a song.

What was it like to work with DANEON and how did that relationship develop?

Working with Daneon was an amazing process. He is a really cool and genuine person! I found a true friend through our sessions together and I also learned a lot from working with him.

How much did he get to influence the song?

I think that Daneon came with a really gentle approach, he allowed me to express my emotions and added that raw and organic sound, which was exactly what I was looking for.

What role does Israel play in your music? Israel has influenced me as a person and has made me who I am. Israel is my home, and I started my journey as a singer songwriter in Israel. It has really built me up both as  a person and as a musician.

As you moved into the US – how did your musical perspective get to change?

Compared to Israel, the US is a much bigger stage. This means more listeners and a greater ability to evolve with my music. Being able to collaborate and share my music here is such blessing and I am forever grateful.

How has Khalid and Jorja Smith influenced your writing?

Both of them are amazing singers and they put a lot of emotion in their music and they always touch my soul with their unique sound.  I feel inspired when I listen to their music and I would definitely want to do a collaboration with them someday in the near future.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

For sure! There’s a lot more to come and I’m super excited to finally share what I’ve been working on for so long with the world.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Not yet! But stay tuned!

What are some of your emotions will you be tackling on this new record?

Each song my upcoming EP brings a different vibe and I talk about lots of different feelings. There is anger, pain, self growth and fears. This EP is sort of like a therapy to me. I write what I feel and then make it into a song.

Any plans to hit the road?

Definitely one of my goals this year. I love traveling and meeting new people and I can’t wait to get back on stage! the love you get from the people who listen to you just makes it a whole different experience.

What else is happening next in Amit’s world?

I’m looking forward to continuing to write new music, collaborate with new artists and sharing my sound with the world.
