Mijo & Local Suicide Release New Visuals For ‘Edo Kai Tora’

Mijo and Local Suicide’s “Edo Kai Tora / Ganz Falsch” EP that also includes remixes by Sascha Funke and Simple Symmetry is out now via San Francisco imprint Roam Recordings and has received great critical acclaim by press and djs worldwide.

We are happy to premiere today the video for “Edo Kai Tora”, an infectious uptempo track with hypnotic, oscillating synths and an undeniable groove. Greek Vamparela of Local Suicide brings her voice to the track and the result is a sultry, spoken vocal that repeats the resounding phrase “Edo Kai Tora”, which in Greek translates into “Here And Now”. The words themselves couldn’t be more fitting to the overall feel of the project, which has an extremely ‘in the moment’ sensibility to it. It is only natural that the visual depiction of it compliments it perfectly.

The artists combine the darkness of techno with the fun and fluidity of disco, which is omnipresent in their work. This video, directed by Greek Dimitris Argyriou, shot by Portuguese Fabio Mota and edited by Mexican Lorea Arcelus. captures the trio’s creativeness with its use of slow spaced out dance moves and the frivolous joy exuberated from the dancers. It begins with four women in nature, dressed in leopard print, dancing in over exaggerated, flowing movements that give a sense of freedom but comradery as their energies bounce off each other. They are soon joined by a group of more people as they all get lost in the mesmerizing beats together. The video is striking, yet loose and fun, highlighted by the man in the horse mask who dances without a care in the world!

You can buy the EP on vinyl here and digitally here.
