Fresh from a main supporting slot on Rita Ora’s UK & EU leg of her Phoenix World Tour, rising soul pop singer-songwriter Moss Kena returns with his latest single ‘You and Me’ featuring two of music’s most prominent rising stars, Algerian-born, Tottenham-raised RnB singer Miraa May and Compton rapper Buddy. Out today via Ministry of Sound/ Sony Music, stream ‘You and Me’ here.
A summer soaked track, the beat on ‘You and Me’ is light and ethereal led and underpinned by the soulful varied ranging sound Moss Kena has become synonymous. Genre-defying through its features, ‘You and Me’ is also fused with the grit and sharp wit brought by Miraa May as well as comprising a cool flow from Compton one to watch, Buddy.
Speaking of the track Moss Kena said “The song is a fun, flirtatious bop about a summer love, enticing and seductive not “thinking about forever” I’ve been a fan of both Miraa and Buddy for a minute, they both encapsulate the attitude of the song, Miraa is a boss and I was thrilled she could bring that energy to the track, she expresses strong self worth in her lyrics and I think that’s amazing. Buddy reflects the seductive adornment aspect of this song so well, the cocky bravado of a romantic encounter, both so perfectly resonating with the tone of the tune.”
Miraa confidently adds “It’s a song to put you in a summer mood, you already know”.
An artist that is really coming into his own, Moss and his music continues to rise and resonate across the music industry and beyond. Supporting the likes of Rita Ora, Jess Glynne and Bastille, Moss’ music has been championed across BBC Radio 1 (achieving an introducing playlist addition for single ‘Square One’), 1XTRA and Beats 1, with nods from Zane Lowe & Elton John.
