Shlump Leads The Way With “System Crash” EP On Wakaan

Out now through Liquid Stranger’s flourishing Wakaan platform is the brilliant new EP from Shlump. He has worked four tunes under System Crash, which is some of his strongest work to date. The producer describes his sound as “Alien Bass Music,” which we find pretty fitting for this release.

The wonky-edged title track cuts through the silence as the opener, bringing some melodic fire along the way. “Bum Rush Dub” slows the tempo with its stripped back beats and “Mysteries” cranks up the intensity once more. Completing the set is the dubstep anthem “Spaceflight,” which evokes memories of a classic era.

Shlump says: “With System Crash,’ I had the intention to curate an EP that broke conventional genre boundaries. I took inspiration from many different, strange places and wanted each track to have a vibe of its own. The goal was to create songs that would bend the normal “formula.”
