As a woman raised in the South I was taught to ‘have grit’ and ‘save face.’ In the darkest of times I’ve felt alone. This story is unfortunately common for many women. We fight, we struggle, we survive toxic, violent, manipulate relationships with the very partners we are supposed to be able to trust completely with our whole selves.
