Hi Lunden, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Very well. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
How were you drawn into the acting world?
I was going through tough times in Los Angeles. I was homeless and sleeping on a friend’s couch. She was a struggling actress and asked me to go with her to an audition. I went and surprisingly got the role. I soon signed with her agent and started booking lead roles in indie films and television shows.
Having done different genres – does your approach tends to change depending on the format or genre?
Not at all. I always stay true to my character regardless of the genre.
Let’s talk about Angel’s Prayer – what was the audition process like?
For Angel’s Prayer, the producer sent me the script, I auditioned and email it to her.
I understand you get to play two cops one right after the other – what was it like to embody both characters differently?
It was interesting. One’s a hero the other’s a villain. I had to do my research and prepare a backstory for both characters. I had to find out their likes, dislikes and etc. I had to make them come to life. They came from different backgrounds but they both shared pain and brokenness.
On Angel’s Prayer you had to go for a much psychological approach – was it easy as an actress to move from playing this tough detective to this much broken woman?
Once I read the script and did my research, I had a better understanding of their motivation. Once I figured that out, I felt comfortable in their skin.
The film also adds some supernatural elements –what was it like for you to put yourself into all these situations?
It was extremely dark. I allowed myself to go to that dark place. However, once we were done filming , I knew I had to turn it off and tuck it away.
What else you had to do to prepare for this role?
Watched a lot of cop shows.
When and where can people catch on the film?
The film will be hitting theaters in 2020.
What else is happening next in Lunden De’Leon’s world?
I recently booked a psychological thriller called “PAYNE” filming in North Carolina early 2020. I play another detective… yay! I’ve also booked a great coming of age drama called King Amir’s Tale filming this fall.
