INTERVIEW: Soaware

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Many thanks great!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “I, Behold?

I Behold talks about human experiences, a recurrent topic for us, this is sure.

People need to believe in something and to follow a dream.

This is important for our stability, we have to design our path in order to give a sense, a reason to our life.

It could be the job, the family, sex ,religion or our passions and all those things have something in common, we can lose them, and if this happen we are lost and the pain, the sorrow, it could be really hard to bear.

The incredible thing is that often human beings are used to go on, to keep going, to keep walking and often not because they beleive they can achieve their goal, but simply because they can’t change their way, they can’t imagine their life in a different way.

Right or wrong ? Are they tough or blind?

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

A total fun!

But a lot of work..

First we wrote the story and the screenplays, then we had to film hours and hours of different sky, day and night in order to find the right ones, then we made all the flying “actors “ and find the right actress and actually we found the best one, she is perfect.

Making music and even our own videos is really rewarding, both are art, and we like to do that.

In general musicians are musicians and movie makers are movie makers and here we can enter also in the budget topic and your position in Billboard but this is not the point.

Music, lyrics, image and video are all part of our arts and I think that is great that our fans watching our videos they are watching 100% our product music and images and not some movie director interpretation of our music, what normally happen.

We love the concept of 100% MADE IN SOAWARE but for sure in the future we will ask help to somebody else in order to complete our ideas, but for sure not to create something out of our control.

The single comes off your new self-titled album – why naming the record after this song in particular?

The Album is a full experience of 11 tracks including I Behold that is just one of the several stories we have told.

It’s our first album and we wanted to underline our starting point giving the band name , we thought it was the best choice.

How was the recording and writing process?

Recording and writing is our life, this is not our first full lenght but is the first for SOAWARE and for the first time we experienced a completely new approach.

Not anymore 6 people playing in a small room with an unbelievable high volume unbearable by a normal human being , but tow people , me and Ema, recording and ponder wisely any single choice and building up step by step our album.

Somebody can say that this is not Rock, we think that this is absolutely rock but with a bit cience.

What is it about the 80s that you find so fascinating?

Probably is because we grew up in the 80’s but I objectively think that the vibes you could find in the music and the incredible revolution that the electronic has brought is something that we can see only the 80’s and we didn’t experienced in any other era.

90’s were cool, our adolescence, new styles, new fashions but nothing to do with the 80’s explosion.

What role does Italy play in your music?

Difficult to find a direct influence of the italian melodic romantic music, but is the country where we grew up and surely part of our melody comes from the IIalian culture.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

The music comes from a careful analysis of our dreams, our desires .

The Soaware plan was to find what we wanted to listen to, you know when you stop zapping a playlist because you heard something interesting, a new song a new band and you simply say , hey! I like that and is totally new!

That was our target.

Concerning the lyrics also for them the rules was the same, to write about what we would like to find in a song’s lyric and in general the topics are light, no politics, society we don’t want too much distraction from the purpose of our job, the music, the pure emotion linked to the groove, the volume, the frequency.

Any plans to hit the road?

Well, let’s say we are writing the plan, but is still to early togo deep inside this topic…

What else is happening next in Soaware’s world?

Writing and writing, looking for new people to add to the crew, new videos, a lot of interviews and funny things concerning the album promotion, yes we are moving and we are having a lot of fun above all.
