5 Natural foods that may cause miscarriages

Pregnancy is a stage where a woman goes through a lot of changes in her brain and more specifically in her body and that is the reason why women should be careful about her diet. These foods may be nutritionally acceptable but are bound to cause complications and miscarriages in early pregnancy. Your journey of motherhood starts with pregnancy.

A South Africa latest news website says it is crucial for a pregnant woman to have a balanced and nutritious diet, and to ensure proper health of her baby and herself. However, there are certain foods like papaya, pineapple, crabs, eggs, and mercury-rich fish that pregnant women should refrain from consuming.

This is because these food items can trigger a probable miscarriage, especially during the first trimester of pregnancy, when pregnant women are usually at a higher risk of having one. It is essential for pregnant women to take care while incorporating foods into their diet and avoid specific foods during pregnancy to prevent a likely miscarriage. While the significance of other factors like the age and health of the pregnant woman, her lifestyle and food habits, cannot be disregarded, it is advisable for her to stay away from these food items, particularly, during the early stages of the pregnancy. These foods may cause widening or opening of the cervix and inner contractions in a pregnant woman, thereby putting her at risk of a miscarriage. They include:

Raw eggs

Most people consume raw eggs because it minimizes the risk of allergens. It also contains vitamin B12 and folate but the risks on pregnant women outweigh the pros. Eating raw eggs exposes the mother to salmonella poisoning which is fatal for the foetus, according to a Zambian News website.

This contains bromelain which may soften the cervix to start contractions in a pregnant woman. This may result in a miscarriage. It is best to avoid consuming pineapple or pineapple juice during the early stages of pregnancy.

Aloe Vera

This is considered to be good for indigestion but there are several reasons why one should avoid Aloe Vera juice during pregnancy as it contains anthraquinones which are used as a laxative and is not good for the health of a pregnant woman and if taken by her it would lead to pelvic hemorrhage.

This is also a food that is dangerous for pregnant women, especially green papaya. The reason is that green papaya and unripe papaya contain enzymes which can cause uterine contractions leading to miscarriage. Therefore, during pregnancy, to ensure the absolute safety, pregnant women should definitely not eat papaya, especially green papaya because the hazard rate will increase many times.

This is sweet and hot and if pregnant women eat a lot of peaches, they will be prone to bleeding. The shell hair of peach can also cause itching and burning throat. Therefore, this is also one of the worst foods that cause miscarriage that people should avoid eating during pregnancy.
