Hi Deeq, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

“Life has been wonderful for me so far,I move from my old house in my old neighborhood ,I’m  helping out people as much as I can and working with a major television station located in Atlanta & Los Angeles.

How did you jump into the behind the scenes of filmmaking and entertainment as a whole?

“Its a long story like a full life documentary. I was young working as a music marketing guy making my transition to the movies industry, I met a major dude in the movie marketing  who also was directing a film an I became a script supervisor/Judge. Years later I became a producer for a big budget dating film with a great cast Emmy award winning producers an a major director on a different film.

Did you initially have a love for being in front of the camera or rather the opposite?

“It cool to be in front of the camera but I love the behind the scenes life especially when you can see your magic in marketing travel through people and the business. It’s amazing!!

How much does your love for sports in some way helps you in your work as a marketing guy?

“I still have that dream just like kids going to the NBA . As a baller I practice and play basketball in the snow yes indeed even turn down my friends with girls at a club over a basketball. I learn that marketing and basketball is all about creating your own shots and don’t be afraid to take them. (Motivation, Offense/Defense)

Known for working on both TV and Movies – does the approach tends to change depending on the format?

“It depends on the television season and the film but either way you have to approach it in a good way.

You have done some great works on a few hip hop artists – how did you get involve into this particular projects?

“It wasn’t easy, I been turn down by companies I even had a door slam in my face. I was a mentor in a public school for twenty five  kids in a classroom, one day I went out to eat an I ran into this music promoter name Dre who was with Ray J and a group called Jagged edge at a store signing. We chatted and exchange info back then we had 2way pagers an BlackBerry. I had to fill out applications at a office an pass a marketing test and that wasn’t easy.

What was the approach for this particular project? Did you get to split the duties spreading both the music and the film itself?

“Yes we had to market over 10 clients from the hip hop scene and movie soundtrack in one day at the same time. We put in work an that was the first company I learn a lot about marketing, They are tatted for life with me.

What has been the most challenging aspect of this and your work as a whole?

“I tell myself just like I tell the youth to never give up, You really have to use your third eye and times will be extremely hard to where you working twenty one hours straight. eople  know I work long hours I’m not a workaholic but I do put it in work cause marketing never ends, If I give up then I wasted something I love!!

What else is happening in your world?

I create dozen of quotes to inspired people online. I’m currently in promotions now at a television station. There are some cool hit shows Im working an I’m glad they now on cable. I’m very thankful and I have somethings in the making like my life documentary and becoming an owner. I still support the youth an I’m in these civil right marches, I’m the guy who protest by myself holding up a sign around thousands of people about women deserve to be paid equally when they working the same job as a man.
