After announcing their upcoming Chemical Hearts tour only a couple of weeks ago, legendary Aussie rockers Grinspoon have already sold out The Forum in Melbourne and Waves in Wollongong, with a bunch of other shows on the run not far off selling out. Due to this high demand for tickets, second shows have been announced at The Forum on October 15, and Waves on October 19 and will go on sale to the public on Thursday June 27 from www.grinspoon.com.au.
“It is with humility and a profound sense of gratitude to our friends in the gorgeous cities of Melbourne and Wollongong that the tickets to the concerts have been exhausted through enthusiastic participation at the ticket booth,” enthuses lead singer Phil Jamieson. “It is due to our love for these cities and as they say in the classics ‘overwhelming demand’ that we are adding extra shows to these two beautiful places. You can come if you like!”
Joining Grinspoon on the bill in Wollongong will be These New South Whales, alongside Gooch Palms as main support, and Bugs. For all other shows nationally, Grinspoon will be joined by The Hard Aches, Gooch Palms and Bugs. And don’t forget the band have also announced a very exclusive run of Chemical Hearts vinyl records that will only be available at the shows, offering a taste of the setlist from the tour as a vinyl keepsake.
The Chemical Hearts tour will be packed with hits and audience faves from the band’s festival performances over the years, but will also pay homage to their discography after the record that thrust them into the spotlight, Guide To Better Living. It will kick off in Fremantle on October 11 at Metropolis, then move through Perth, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, Adelaide, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney, Gold Coast, and wrap up in Brisbane on November 8 at The Fortitude Music Hall. With the first shows in Melbourne and Wollongong already sold out, fans will need to get in quick to secure their tickets.
Exclusive Ticketek presale to 2nd Wollongong show commences on Monday June 24. Exclusive Forum Theatre presale to 2nd Melbourne show commences on Tuesday June 25 and exclusive Ticketmaster presale to this show commences on Wednesday June 26.
