With a distinct voice, a melodic mind, a knack for storytelling and an honest charm, Carl Blarx draws a line somewhere between Hip-Hop and Electronic with Indie and punk influences and lyrical content that shows he is unafraid of emotional raw honesty, self evaluation or fitting into any box that isnʼt his own.

Now, the hip Hop/Alternative artist Carl Blarx has returned with the release of his new music video for “Be Nice.” Watch here

About the video, Blarx comments “For starters – I wrote, produced and directed the video. all of the cast are all good friends of mine – except the shopkeeper – who is now a good friend! My talented cousin, Joseph Harvey filmed and edited it and his business parter Robbie Kilgur acted as 1st AD. It’s also a zero budget production.

I came up with the idea for this video about 3 months ago.

After fleshing out the idea I started to think “How the fuck am I going to make this happen?” After about 3 weeks of deliberating and stressing, I started contacting all the people that were in the vid and started going into cornershops in my area asking if we could film in there shop for a few hours and if one of the shopkeepers would be up for being in the video!

I began writing out a proper storyboard/treatment and script and sent it out to everyone.

After quite a while of trying to find a shoot date that would fit everyone, it was game on. I got the last minute preparations sorted and the rest is history.

The video is about the way we pass emotion to eachother.

‘Pass the parcel of feeling’ I suppose.”
