mxmtoon Shares New Single + Video For “seasonal depression,” Debut Album ‘masquerade’ Out 9/17!

After announcing her forthcoming debut album the masquerade, mxmtoonreturns with new single “seasonal depression”: a track that sees her tackling a complex issue with charm and honesty, all within the confines of a 3 minute song. She refers to her songwriting as “rhyming diary entries”, and it’s this personal insight into her life and experiences that has built a remarkable bond between her and her fans. Watch the video for “seasonal depression” here + buy and stream here.

“seasonal depression” builds around mxmtoon’s crystal-clear vocals until drums, piano and strings enter the track. It is a sound that manages to be both personal and expansive, showing a clear development of mxmtoon’s songwriting talent.

mxmtoon tells us “seasonal depression’ was born to fill this gap I found in music, and create something wonderful. I adore that a song written so gloom and doom can sound like the sunniest musical number of a summer movie. My hope with the song is to provide affirmation to those who find facing certain days beyond difficult, but to simultaneously uplift them from their stormy thoughts. Music can provide comedy, validation, and insight, and I feel strongly “seasonal depression” hits all three wonderfully.”
