Duo Polo & Pan Release Psychedelic Single, “Gengis” As Part of Four-Track EP with Remixes from Red Axes and Asa Moto

Parisian electronic tastemakers Polo & Pan return in a big way today with their first original single, “Gengis”, since their celebrated 2017 debut album, Caravelle. “Gengis” pivots from their traditionally joyful French touch melodies, instead blending psychedelic sounds and  tribal-inspired rhythms that immerses the listener in a landscape of musical mysticism.

As part of a four-track EP, the single is reinforced by a stripped back, drum and synth-heavy rework from Polo & Pan, followed by two contrasting remixes from duos Asa Moto and Red Axes. Ghent-based Asa Moto supply a funk-forward tune almost unrecognizable from the original, while Tel Aviv underground selectors Red Axes round off the EP with an acid desert trip treatment. Listen to all four versions of “Gengis”, here.

Last year saw Polo & Pan on a world tour in support of Caravelle, with two sold-out US headline runs hitting venues like NY’s Brooklyn Steel and LA’s Fonda, two massive Coachella plays in April, and major European dates earlier this year. Their global takeover continues on their most expansive US tour to date, making stops at Terminal 5 in NY, 9:30 Club in DC, The Novo in LA, and Fox Theater in SF. Accumulating over 115 million global streams and over 60 million plays on Caravelle alone, Polo & Pan are at the forefront of the French electronic wave. With a sound all their own, they’ve positioned themselves in a league of renowned legacy acts – dubbed “the descendants of Daft Punk” by Le Monde – while continuously innovating and creating new trends in the space.
