Bring your gear wherever you go

Grab your bag and place extra clothes, deodorant, sneakers and a water bottle in it. Keep it all packed and ready in the trunk of your care so you will have a reminder to go to the gym.  Since this way you will see it every day, you will surely work out more than you have before.

Incorporate exercise into your daily routine

Who says you have to go to the gym in order to work out? You have surely found ways to multitask on an everyday basis with regular activities, like putting dishes into the dishwasher while dinner is cooking. So why don’t you multitask your exercise and combine it with other tasks? For example, instead of using a desk chair at work sit on a stability ball. This way you will work on your core while getting the job done. In addition, you can park really away from your workplace so you have to walk to work and jog back to your car.

Invest in a quality workout clothes and footwear

You know that feeling when you are just dying to wear that new shirt you bought? Well, the same rules apply when it comes to workout clothes. First thing you need to do is actually invest in quality wardrobe, such as tops, sweatshirts, running shoes and comfy running underwear. When you have spent hard-earned money on your gear you will be more likely to feel compelled to use it on a regular basis.

Use a fitness tracker

If you are not feeling motivated to exercise a fitness tracker will give you the boost you need. Although you can buy a fitness tracker, you can also save your money and simply download an app that will not only act as a tracker but will also allow you to be part of a group. These online communities are a great source of challenges and motivation so give them a shot.

Have a plan

Be honest, when you don’t plan for your day you spent the larger part of it procrastinating. Therefore, you should not only plan your day, but plan your workouts as well. According to askthetrainer.com, this way when you walk into the gym, your workout will be much more satisfying and effective than without some kind of plan. If you are not sure whether you can do it on your own, hire a trainer whose job is to provide you with the framework for a plan, a complete plan, or educate you in creating your own plans. At the end when you accomplish your goals you will feel good not only physically, but mentally as well.

Try full-body training

One of the most popular excuses when it comes to avoiding exercise is the lack of free time. However, a full-body workout will not only save time but will also target all the muscles in your body and burn more calories.  If you want to be an effective exerciser, focus mainly on full-body exercises so you will be able to perform rewarding workouts in less than half an hour.

Get a work out buddy

Working out can be a lot more fun when you are not doing it alone. On the other hand, you won’t be able to slack off as often since that would mean you are letting your buddy down. However, make sure your goals are similar or at least compatible so you are able to work out together.

Participate in a challenge

If you are a competitive person consider joining online challenge groups or ask around and see whether there is an ongoing competition at work. More and more companies are encouraging their employees to exercise by organizing various challenges amongst coworkers and offering some kind of award for the winners, so see whether your company is one of them. On the other hand, if you are not competitive at all, try hiring a trainer or rewarding yourself with a pre-determined purchase when you reach a certain milestone.

Naturally, you won’t always feel motivated. However, if you want to become an effective exerciser push yourself and test your limits even on those days when you feel lazy.
