Dominican-American rapper MRG (Queens, NY native Matthew Raymond Guzmán) shares the striking visuals for his new single “Brokenhearted”, premiered today by HipHopDX. The song and video provide a lesson in love, teaching that heartbreak is a part of growing up, and that there will be plenty of opportunities in life to fall in love. The featured artist on the track, Sweez, is the priest in the A1Vision-directed video who performs an exorcism on the two protagonists. The ending leaves interpretation open to the viewer: were MRG and the woman lead able to heal and move past their heartbreak, or will they remain in a zombie-like state, crippled by the loss of love?
Produced by multi-platinum producer Superstaar(producer for 6ix9ine, PnB RockChief Keef, etc.), “Brokenhearted” is from MRG‘s forthcoming debut album Live From The Hurst 2 , which will serve as the full-length follow-up to his debut EP Live From The Hurst.
