Hi Aylo, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey guys.. I’m good…. Im great.. Thank you for asking, at the moment I’m enjoying the process of putting out music and getting feedback on my work. So at the moment life is good and I feel blessed.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Sassy”?

Sassy is the newest single of the project Dnt’ Dlt. I got the beat off the produce Eke Ikenna and the story came to me. I called in Fasina and PsychoYP to jump on the song. Two power houses in their own right, and it is what you hear today.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Sassy is inspired by a culmination of women in my life. Women to me take on so much, this is a song that celebrates the feminine form and everything that the wider world may perceive as a negative quirk. I wanted them to know that those things should be shouted out and not looked down on… As a man I was giving my perspective on a culmination of things that I admire in the female influences in my life and I wanted to create something to remind them that they’re so sassy, so beautiful, so powerful – I’m just making observations really.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video for your previous track “Paris”?

With Paris – The video was intended to be open-ended in interpretation. The theme is concurrent as finding the beauty in damage and I wanted to be able to express that but not force the viewer down a specific narrative – beaty after all is in the eye of the beholder.

My team and I are very passionate about creating art, the Candles team (videographers) were able to capture the essence of the song and bring this vision to life. The muse Ashley was amazing to shoot with and helped personify this character that did a lot without having to do a lot. So gratitude to everyone involved in helping me visually express Paris.

Both singles comes off your new mixtape DNT DLT – what’s the story behind the title?

Dn’t Dlt is a journey of finding self-confidence, it’s my take on finding my own, It explores everything from life, love, heartbreak, death, cleansing and healing and all the pitfalls of emotions in between.

Experiences happen in cycles, I’m sharing mine just to let people know you should believe in your journey and your ideas and not to allow life pull you down – It can, It does and it tries to – but within all of it all you’re bigger.

How was the recording and writing process?

My recording process generally requires a lot of solitude and space. I like to think I’m a constantly evolving individual, for me to share my point of view sometimes require that I am grounded within myself.

Everything is an energy source – so for me it’s about ensuring that nothing else influences whilst I’m creating and I can find the real emotion behind what it is I am trying to convey. So I cut most things off and I just need space lol… So don’t really have 30 mandem in the studio, I’ve learn I don’t work weel like that. So for Dnt’ Dlt I spent enough time with myself to be reflective and communicate that..

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else or rather than working on your own?

Not really, it just starts and ends at wherever – I’m not sure that I distinguish between the process, sometimes someone else has an alternative view to a theme… Different perspectives are important, it gives you a fuller experience.. So there isn’t a particular rule – I just want to make the best song that I can and you know when its right when it hits you.

How do you go on balancing your different influences together?

Am I? I don’t know honestly.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

From my story I guess, It’s a really personal album – There really isn’t a song on the tape that I haven’t lived or experienced. From Paris to Sassy and all the rest of the songs that you’re going to hear on the tape.

Any plans to hit the road?

I know there’s a few plans in the works but I’m not at liberty to say – I’m just excited about what lies ahead.

What else is happening next in AYLO’s world?

I’m still recording, still working.. for all the finer details I may or may not be allowed to disclose lol You might have to hit up Alecc my manager to find out.
