INTERVIEW: Surreal Satori

1) Hi Satori, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey, firstly thank you so much for sharing your interest in my work…

I’m very well just traveling back from a recording session.

2) Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Something In Everything”?

Sure, ‘Something in Everything’ is my debut single, so I’m all excited for its release, as with it I embark a whole new journey of life.

It’s a love song, sung in longing of the beloved.

How love nourishes the being that in everything and every moment love finds its way to make one blush and smile like never before.

When Love happens it drowns us into timelessness, hence the song begins with ‘what time of the day it is…?’ For there remains no time just love…!

This song is a journey of a girl who is in love and longs to be loved every moment, how her day flys in simply cherishing the memories and pampering herself…

3) Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

My own longing for love was an inspiration in itself…! Also we all want to experience that magical love in our lives… don’t we..?

4) Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes, the video is all set to release on the 19th July 2019. It was shot in a beautiful villa in Dubai, along with its private beach.

5) How was the recording and writing process?

Well, honestly this song was written by surprise…! One fine day, I was scribbling down my thoughts on the beauty of longing and I ended up composing ‘Something in Everything’.

Initially I named this song ‘The Lipstick Song’.

as I really connect to the expression where it says ‘…I found my lipstick in my pocket, I put it on my lips, conceal one kiss, you left for me…’

Is shows the sensitivity of love in smallest of gestures…

Recording this song was more of fun alongside creativity. My music team and I rehearsed much over the song so the recording went well.

6) What role does Canada play in your music?

Traveling plays a vital role in my thought process. Having travelled intensely over the years, I gathered a lot of insight on people belonging to various cultures, belief systems, countries etc. But the emotions are our common base, no matter what language or nationality.

So Canada bestowed me with its beauty.

The treks I often take to the Rocky Mountains and serenity of those silent lakes throughout the drive, fills me with so much expression and compels me to pen down the ongoing flow of words.

7) Having born and raised in such a multi-ethnic environment gets to influence your writing as a whole?

Most definitely. It brings a sense of balance of cultures, make it way more easy to penetrate into human emotions and music is all about expression of emotions…

8) Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Yes, one thing I promised myself when I started music is that I will continue to compose songs no matter what.

So I’ve finished recording my next song, yet to shoot the video.

9) Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Tentative date of release for the audio I am looking at mid September and video around first week of October.

Title of the song is ‘Sometimes’.

10) Any plans to hit the road?

I am actually on my flight to Canada as I’m answering you. I was in Dubai for the shooting of the video.

11) What else is happening next in Surreal Satori’s world?

At the moment I’m looking forward for the release of ‘Something in Everything’.

Next I’m working on the video for ‘Sometimes’, so around August end will be shooting.

Rest, Surreal Satori’s world is an infinite canvas of possibilities, I never know what’s next… 🙂
