Hailing from the south side of the river, South London artist Marc Jones pieces together a deeply introspective new single ‘Real’. Proving a raw and honest insight into modern life, his song highlights the societal pressures when it comes to seeking approval from others, especially via social media. Building an incredible story within the song he uses intricate metaphors and ingenious wordplay to illustrate his thoughts.
Taken from his forthcoming 6 track ‘Progress’ EP, executively produced by RP9 (Chip, AJ X Deno, Sophia Grace) the project shares Marc’s own truths and experiences, varying in mood and topics. His music embodies a space where he can speak truthfully of his experiences and having grown up in the streets of Croydon, he faced stigma and challenges, something he he talks freely in with his music. His forthcoming project opens up deeper conversations and his latest single ‘Real’ leads the way.
Marc Jones on the new single:
“We’re living in a time where people are more concerned with someones look on social media and not the actual content of their character. When I wrote this record, I was talking to myself as much as anyone else. I needed a reminder not to get caught up in the culture’s expectation and stay focused on the things that matter.” – Marc Jones
