INTERVIEW: Ooberfuse

Who are some of your classify your music?

Lost Frequencies, Lilly Wood and the Prick, Scott Storch, Hibari.

What do you want fans to take from your music?

We want our music to accelerate heart beats and bodily molecules so that unbelievable amounts of energy is released much in the same way as nuclear ooberfusion.

What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?

Best concert would have to be a hip-hop event in a run down basket ball court in a Philipinne township. Live performing highlights would be the unpredictability of live ie each song is different every time we perform it. And making a connection with the audience and taking them with us on a musical journey.

Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?

Call My Name is latest single release with many different mixes. It is a favourite because the lyric has soul but can be engaged with on many levels depending on the listener.

How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?

We have recently signed up with an independent record label Fretsore Records. This means that we are able to concentrate more on the music whilst professionals deal with the many other aspects like marketing etc.

If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?

Bob Marley because he made credible music that engaged important social themes.

What’s next for you?

We have an EP release with Fretsore on the horizon. We also have some exciting collaborations with Japanese Chip-tune/Straight Edge artist Hibari and Philippine hip-hop crew KaraNiJuan.
