Hello! Thank you so much for the possibility of this interview! All right, it’s a time when I have a lot of inspiration.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Remedy”?
Sure! “Remedy” is the last track I released and is a collaboration with TRUNG, a very talented guy.
This is an original track also in collaboration with an American singer named “AXYL”, the genre is Future Bass and is different from my last songs which were Progressive House instead. I am very happy with the result!
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
Let’s say that the Future Bass has always been a genre that I really like along with Progressive House and I’ve always wanted to try something like this.
Listening to music on the web I happened to end up with some ideas published by TRUNG so I thought that combining our ideas could lead to something good and this led to the beginning of our collaboration.
This will definitely not be the last song in collaboration with him!
Any plans to release a video for the single?
No for this song I decided to publish only a lyric video, making an official video in a professional way for a song has costs and unfortunately I can’t do it for every song I publish.
But I’m working on some songs that will have the official video.
How was the recording and writing process?
Initially I contacted TRUNG to compliment him on his work and he told me if I wanted to hear some of his ideas and when I heard the draft of this song I immediately found it interesting and so we started working on it and got an intrumental.
Later I searched among many singers until I found one that seemed to me to have a voice that fit better with our song.
AXYL immediately accepted the collaboration willingly and personally I was very satisfied with the result.
Do you tend to take a different approach when collaborating with someone else rather than working on your own?
Certainly working on a project alone or collaborating with other artists has some differences.
When you work alone on a song you have the advantage that you can totally choose every single aspect of that song, while if you collaborate with other people the idea must convince both.
But to collaborate with others has the great advantage that more ideas are expressed and this can help a lot in some moments when you may lack inspiration or you can’t find the right idea for that piece of song.
Usually when I collaborate with other artists, everyone takes care of a part of the song, like break, drop or even finding a singer and then doing the mix & master.
I really like working with different artists every time.
What’s the thing you enjoy the most about collaboration?
As I said the thing I like most about collaborations is the amount of ideas that can come from multiple minds.
Sometimes an idea can be wrong and having someone to help you correct it is very useful.
On certain occasions, however, collaborations can lead to ideas that are too different and this can cause problems for the realization of the song and even interrupt it.
But generally I like to collaborate a lot.
What role does Italy play in your music?
Unfortunately in Italy the music of the genre that I produce does not have a very important role few the most listened genres are very different.
There are some realities that try to increase the following of this world but for the moment there is still work to be done.
In fact most of my audience comes from abroad because the lyrics of my songs are in English and this favors an international diffusion.
I hope that in the future my music can be better known also in Italy.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Sure! I am working on many new songs of different genres among them, both collaborations and singles as well as remixes.
I still don’t know what and in what order they will be released because there are many aspects that can change the situation.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
My next song will almost certainly be another collaboration with TRUNG and it will be called “Voices” the genre I don’t know how to define it but you’ll find out!
Any plans to hit the road?
For the moment I am concentrating only on productions and I hope this can then lead to having dates and events too!
But the most important thing for me is making music that people like.
What else is happening next in Zoibaf’s world?
Music is not yet my only occupation and so the time for productions is often taken away from me by other tasks but my goal is to be able to make music be my life and work hard every day to improve myself and accomplish this goal.
