INTERVIEW: Stace Cadet

Hi Stace, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey Vents! Thanks for having me. I have be spectacular thanks for asking.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single & The Circus?

‘The Circusʼ is a fun club single that speaks to some parts of the industry that lack a bit of depth.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I was at an (undisclosed) music conference in an (undisclosed) country fan it dawned on me at about 6D00am in the morning at an after party. I generally do my best work during the worst hours.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

As much as I love a film clip we decided against for this one. In saying that, if it tops the charts in every country on the planet, (rightʼo) we might revisit the idea.

How was the recording and writing process?

I had the Toplines idea as mentioned above and was working on some music with a friend but then kind of left it for a while. I picked the project back up months later and polished it off and added the vocal. Wah-lah!

What role does Australia play in your music?

The biggest. The Australian dance music industry as you are well aware of is booming. We have some of the biggest producers in the world and I think we have a great legacy. Aussie kids have been nothing but supportive of my work and Iʼm super proud to be a partw of our dance scene.

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with or remixing someone else rather than working on your own original work?

The basic formula is the same but the work flow is always different depending on who you are sharing the creative process with.

I love collaborating with new people and the energy that is the room when two or three people are getting excited about an idea. Itʼs energising.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – howʼs that coming along?

The Circus is out now and I have just released a remix for Kyle Watson on This Ainʼt Bristol with my home slice Hood Rich. Itʼs part of a massive remix pack for Kyleʼs latest EP, ‘Into The Morning.ʼ You can also expect and original Single from myself and Kyle set for later in the year.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Lose lips sink ships. Haha.

Any plans to hit the road?

I am just wrapping up a big tour around Aus / Nz tour for the latest single and am looking like heading to Europe in October for ADE.

What else is happening next in Stace Cadetʼs world?

Fast times and a face full of grins! Lifeʼs good. Thanks for having me big fella!
