Rising songstress Carly Rose has released her debut single “birds & bees” today, premiered via Ones to Watch. The track offers Carly’s ageless vocals and mature writing over infectious guitar provided by Hank Solo and Zach Nicita.
“The song sets the scene for a night out with a bunch of people you don’t necessarily want to interact with, and one person you do. ‘birds & bees’ is about giving into that temptation and forgetting about social expectations and graces.” – Carly Rose
Born and raised in New York, singer/songwriter Carly Rose first gained widespread attention six years ago after placing 2nd on X-Factor at merely 12 years old. Although her big voice and young age captivated the judges and audience, she avoided the temptation to dive headfirst into the industry and instead chose to practice her craft and develop her perspective which has turned her into a compelling, honest and immediately relatable songwriter.
After moving to LA, this past year, it’s clear that Carly has finally found her sound. “I spent a lot of time writing what I thought people wanted to hear, or more specifically what I thought people wanted to hear from a female artist my age.” Clearly the years of incubation have paid off as Carly emerges as one of the most refreshing & fully formed young artists – wise beyond her years, with an unexpected soul in her voice that cuts right through an oversaturated “insta” pop music industry.
Carly Rose is currently working on more new music with the likes of Zach Nicita (Anne-Marie, MS. MR, VERITÉ), Dylan William (Halsey, Bea Miller) and Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Julia Michaels), with more singles to be released throughout the rest of the year.
