Phebe Starr ‘Ice Tea Liberace’ EP Out Aug 30 | Shares “TOUCH XXX”

Today, Australian singer-songwriter Phebe Starr (her real name) has announced a new EP Ice Tea Liberace due out August 30th via PALACE. Alongside the announcement Starr shared empowering yet emotionally-raw lead single, “TOUCH XXX”, premiered by NYLON. Starr’s indomitable vocals complemented by booming piano and electro-pop beats, serve as a sensational tease for the 4 song EP, featuring rebellious indie-pop about losing innocence and coming to terms with growing up.

Listen “TOUCH XXX” HERE.

Starr reflects, “I called this song TOUCH XXX because XXX means that there’s explicit adult content and yes that usually means sexual and has some sort of social stigma and shock attached to it.  Those feelings of shock are how I felt learning I’d lost emotional connection in a relationship that I’d been in since I was a teenager and I thought would last forever. No one ever warned me about that Adult content. I would like those emotions to come with an adult warning because they are not PG. I recently moved to L.A and have been creating so much. I like to take broken or old things that nobody else likes and make them beautiful. I made this lyric video by hand-drawing out each frame on scrap paper and using my housemates scanner whilst watching Rick and Morty and Nashville. It was a nice way to end most of my days in a new city whilst I try to figure out my life. ”
