Hey Valdii, welcome to VENTS! How is everything going?

Very well, thanks. Exciting times! Thanks for having me.

Can you tell us more about your latest track ‘Toxic’?

Toxic is a new sound for me. It’s infused with some trap snare and drum sounds but stays true to my pop roots.

What inspired you to write the track?

Well, Toxic is a personal song. I wrote it about a life long friend who had become an alcoholic and in return really damaged a lot of the relationships that he had in his life.

What do you most love about creating music?

I’d probably have to say that feeling of playing back a song and you just get goosebumps. Just being so proud of what you have created. Also, the actual recording part of the process is my favourite. Being in the vocal booth is what I live for.

Any plans to hit the road?

Hell yes! My team and I are planning for this coming fall.

How does the music scene in Canada differ from the UK?

Um, I don’t know much about that, but I’m thinking that more of the music that comes out of the UK becomes international hits. I think the UK is sort of the mecca of new music right now.

Who is your musical inspiration?

I don’t have just one. Many musicians inspire me. As of right now, the ones that have inspired my new music are Bazzi, Halsey, The Weeknd, Post Malone, and Panic at the Disco,  to name a few.

What venue would you most want to perform in?

Well just thinking of my home country, in Canada, I’d love to perform at the Rogers Center or the Scotiabank Arena for sure. Those are the biggest venues in Toronto.

What is your favourite track and why?

Right now, my favourite song is Toxic and I’m hoping it’ll be yours too! haha

Does the new track mean we can expect new material in 2019?

Absolutely. You can expect an EP from me later this year.
