HOAX Shares New Single “Could”, the first episode in a series of stories exploring the human condition of Being

Empathy pop band HOAX released a new indie-alternative rock track, “Could” – the first single off their debut album, b?. Stream here

‘Could’ is the first snapshot of many narratives told in the forms of songs on the album that opens up a begrudging conversation everyone must eventually come to have with oneself. Questions that highlight the essence of BEING – which if not asked in a timely manner, might result in years and years passing by – until you finally look backwards through a telescope of regret.

After taking the last year to re-define their signature sound, HOAX describes their genre of music as “EMPATHY POP” – which derives from the band’s deliberate and conscious examinations of humanity. The band’s music had previously been identified by traditional genre categories such as indie pop, indie rock; alternative rock; R&B/soul, and bedroom pop, but has since found a more refined sound.

HOAX’s project, b?, took two years to create and follows the narratives of 13 different characters that have been thrown together in the aftermath of an otherworldly series of events.
