Square Halo Release “Whisper To Me Again”

‘Square Halo’ are Minnesota-based Treyvonce Ambers-Moore, London based Demetrios Loukas and Tokyo-based Omar S.. The group has returned with the release of their new music video for “Whisper To Me Again”. Watch here

Demetrios Loukas, a British singer-songwriter and primary school teacher, contracted Lyme disease in Oxfordshire 2005 on a school trip to a farm. After years of deteriorating health, the tick-borne infection AKA Neuroborreliosis eventually worked its way to his heart and almost took his life in 2011. Demetrios was eventually diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2013. He now leads the FIGHT LYME NOW campaign with British research scientist Dr. Chris Newton and European Lyme disease expert Dr. Armin Schwarzbach.

“When I told my clinical psychologist that I sang and wrote songs,” says Demetrios, “she actively encouraged me to continue warming-up my voice and making music, because she believed it would have a positive effect on my mood. As much as I didn’t feel like it, I pushed myself to regularly warm up my voice, and whenever possible, write and record songs. The songs that make up ‘The Lyme Years’ took years to record because all too often I was too ill to get out of bed.”   

24-year-old Treyvonce Ambers-Moore graduated from the McNally Smith College of Music in the summer of 2017 with a BSc in Music Technology. His influences include Kanye West, Superstar O, DJ Khaled, Derek “MixedByAli” Ali and Metro Boomin. Demetrios came across Treyvonce’s Youtube channel and contacted him for help producing an inspirational song to promote his FIGHT LYME NOW campaign. They’ve since developed an unconventional singer-songwriter-composer-producer partnership where Trey injects his generation’s energy into Demetrios’s deeply emotional and mature narrative.

Omar S., a music graduate of Leeds University, met Demetrios on a music course in South East London organised by Southwark Young People’s Music Project . They’ve worked intensively and diligently to develop a solid singer-songwriter-composer musical relationship. Omar is influenced by the high standard of song craft of music of the 80’s and 90’s; an example would be Walter Afanasieff who co-wrote and produced most of Mariah Carey’s biggest international hits.

‘The Lyme Years’ is the first of a two-volume project which chronicles Demetrios’s life journey since he began developing symptoms associated with Lyme disease. Adds Demetrios, “I never expected to get better, nor did I ever imagine I’d realise an album with someone who’s over 4000 miles away from London; a testament that the impossible is possible!”
