Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers Release Music Video For “The Hotel Song”

Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers are pleased to present the animated music video for “The Hotel Song,” taken from the band’s acclaimed debut album, Bought to Rot (stream andpurchase). Created by longtime collaborator Margherita Ballarin, “The Hotel Song” is a moody visual complimenting the stark nature of the song’s lyrics that encourage forward movement in one’s life despite constant resentment and disappointment. “’The Hotel Song’ is my tribute to hotel and motel rooms across the world,” Grace says. “Regardless of bed sheet thread count, shampoo and conditioner quality, or Wi-Fi speed, I am thankful to all the rented rooms that have offered me refugee & rest over the years while touring across the world.”

Additionally, Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers will be touring Australia starting this Friday, June 14 with Bloodshot Records label mates Murder By Death. The band will also be making appearances at Reading & Leeds, The Fest and Ohana Festival this fall. A full listing of dates can be found below, and tickets can be purchased via the Bloodshot Records website HERE.

Written and recorded at a breakneck pace, Bought to Rot is an album propelled by a sense of restless, forward motion and the inherent need for Grace to continue evolving as an artist and person the only way she knows how. “I don’t want to write about these same things anymore,” she continues. “I need some new sources of inspiration. And I don’t want to be negative. I want to write some positive, happy songs, and I wanted that to be inspired by positive, happy living, too.”
