New Clickfunnels Bootcamp Released

Clickfunnels is an affiliate marketing site for people who are interested in trying to make money online. It requires some effort and some knowledge to understand what it is and how you can make money at it. We’ll walk you through a quick overview of it.

A Quick Walk Through

Affiliate marketing is a form of marketing or promotion where you have to emphasize something being offered by a third company. Let’s say you’re interested in watching space movies in your dorm room at college. You would look around for companies that offer streaming space movies and promote their products to other people who like the same kind of movies. In this scenario, you’re the affiliate and you earn a commission every time someone buys something through a link you provided to them.

Affiliate marketing has become popular because it is based on you sharing things you like with people who like the same things.

Regular advertisers don’t have much credibility these days. Everyone either knows someone who has been burned by false advertising or has been burned themselves. Affiliate marketing, by contrast, is more closely akin to word of mouth advertising, where one person tells another, “Hey, there is some really cool music on this new video game,” and the second person goes out and buys the game because of their comment.

The Beginner’s Steps

The Clickfunnels affiliate guide has a comprehensive outline to working affiliate marketing but here is a quick rundown of the process.

Go online and find someone or some company who has an affiliate program. Affiliate marketing is growing in popularity so it shouldn’t be hard to find someone.

Promote Their Product

Start promoting their product on your own website or on YouTube videos. Offer a link to that product (or service) for people who want to buy it.

Cookies are those tiny bits of computer code that track your online surfing. When someone visits the site you’re promoting and uses the link you provided, cookies track where they first heard about it (from you for instance) and pass that information along to the site you’re affiliated with.

Get Paid

If that person buys something, you get paid a commission from the sale. How much you get paid will vary based on the particular program you’re part of.

What To Promote

If you decide you want to try making some money this way, the natural first question is, “What should I promote?”

Easy. Promote what you like.

If you’re a gear head who loves to restore antique cars, start searching for antique car sites that offer affiliate programs. If you like making homemade soap, start looking for sites that sell soap making supplies. You won’t have to look too hard to find someone with an affiliate program in your area of interest.

Choose The Right Niche

Whatever you choose, make sure it is a niche that isn’t overrun with competition. If it is too crowded you won’t be able to make much of an impact or get paid very much. Choose something that might be more specialized. Affiliate marketing is very much “niche marketing.”

For instance; gardening sites are a dime a dozen. If you try to create a regular gardening site there will be too much competition for yours to stand out. A site that focuses on desert plants though, or cold weather plants, would be much better and far more likely to appeal to a small group of highly dedicated individuals who will be motivated to buy.

Your Own Website

Affiliate marketing requires you to have your own website. The reason is simple, that’s where you’ll post all your affiliate links for people to follow. Getting a website is straightforward but it can be a little intimidating.

Domain Name

Buy a domain name. Most domain names will run less than $100 dollars a year. Don’t pay extra for fancy names.

You’ll need a hosting service to host your website. Search for “hosting sites” and you’ll get a whole list of the companies that offer hosting services.

WordPress is a web building tool for people who don’t know how to build websites. It is simple to use and mostly free.

Create Some Content

Create the content on your site that relates to whatever you’re promoting. It should be unique, interesting, and informative. If you’re promoting something you already use or have an interest in, it should be easy for you to create something to post online. Just tell people about things you’re passionate about and it will flow like water.
