Quickly gaining a reputation for their live show where their variation of sound makes an impression, from a huge dose of tribal drumming, combined with 60s psyche to dancehall – bringing audiences together in a unifying, upbeat and positive encounter.
The duo take a break from their normal Sabath-eque riffing, as this more laid back approach leans towards their organic percussive roots. The emphasis on Akeba’s Afrobeat drumming and Rob Fincham’s emotive vocals conjure up a pop sensibility where Vampire Weekend meets Reginald Omas Mamode IVs.
Lake is a break-up song, a coming to terms, a time to repair and reminisce, as the protagonist takes an emotive and searching journey right back to that Lake. The video is Directed & Edited by Andy Wilsher (The Killers, The White Stripes, Joe Slater) and filmed at Hackney Downs.
