While their body of work defies genres, bodyimage taps into jarring electronic stylings on the exceedingly morbid “choke”. First heard on CW’s Charmed, the duo explains their newest “is not about a threat, but a plan. Calm, calculated, revenge. How easy it is to forgive yourself, but unfortunately, the scorned don’t forget as easily. Sometimes, karma is constructed.”
Composed of Jordan Reyes and Cait Cole, bodyimage is a project whose discography is best described as a raw, tense, and innovative exploration of the self. Each half of the duo offers a quintessential perspective as Reyes is best known for his work in BASECAMP, the OWSLA-backed duo which has churned out an endless amount of hits for artists ranging from blackbear to Daniel Caesar, while Cole is best known for her work in the Foreign Family Collective duo, mai.la.
The Los Angeles pair’s sound has resonated since the early 2019 release of their debut EP: Active Lovers. All that being said, there’s plenty more in store for bodyimage as they continue to hone into a uniquely visceral experience.
